Court Orders Republican as Election Board Clerk in Ohio
The Ohio Supreme Court ordered Secretary of State John E. Sweeney and the Athens County Board of Elections to appoint a Republican as clerk to replace O. K. Parrett who resigned last April. The ruling leaves Republicans temporarily ahead in the dispute over the unexpired term and will likely apply to similar election board positions statewide.
