Miracle Man Lahissa and the Temple of Wisdom
The Chicago sect leader known as Lahissa or Dr Louis Conde faced complaints from followers over missing funds for the promised Temple of Wisdom. While some testified of healings, others accused him of misusing donations as tensions rose, ending with his arrest on three counts of operating a confidence game and a ceremonial marriage to his secretary Ethel Decker.
