Campaign drives collect clothing for Victory Clothing Drive
Girls and Boys Scouts covered Gloucester collecting clothing and bedding for the Victory Clothing drive. Troop members canvassed districts west and south of Front Street while Boy Scouts worked north of Front Street. Large consignments were gathered for shipment overseas. Scoutmaster Ralph Hines urged missed bundles to call for pickup and reminded Troop 72 to meet Saturday at 9 am for camp hill day tests and grounds work. Officer elections were slated for next Monday. Attendance at a Kiwanis dinner was up with plans for officer installations and a special program by George W. Rose. Funeral services were held for George Raymond Stickdorn of Hemlock with burial at Porterville Cemetery.
