Four Scioto County men were jailed in Gallia County amid arrests after Harold Trainer reported finding two men in a Route 233 house filled with antiques. Deputies traced two other suspects, Ronald Bradley and Riley Cook, to South Webster Rural Route and recovered stolen items from their homes.
Morris Tipton of Gallipolis, 35, was admitted to Holzer Hospital with a broken leg and head injuries after a tavern fight. Witnesses say he brandished a gun before others knocked him down and called the authorities. He is expected to face charges. condition reported as good.

Gallipolis state highway patrol investigated two accidents Thursday on Route 218 at Thivener and Kemper Hollow Road. In the Thivener crash a vehicle driven left of center forced Charles Whitt off the road with no contact between the three cars. the other driver fled. No injuries reported. In the Kemper Hollow incident Melvin Kirby, driving left of center, collided with Lowell Northup. both cars sustained minor damage. Kirby was cited to Municipal Court.
