Ohio River Road realignment near Crown City and Swan Creek
The Ohio River Road between Crown City and Swan Creek in Gallia County is being realigned to reduce slide hazards. Harvey Candel of Bucyrus under contract for 260,621 dollars will finish 3.09 miles of new concrete road by September 30. The plan places the road on Swan Creek Bottoms with a 22 foot wide pavement and a 40 foot right of way. A large hillside cut and a new riverfront alignment aim to improve safety and scenery. Additional funding supports a Crown City to Lawrence County concrete road to extend along the waterfront from the Meigs County line.
