Page former Dundas farmer now of Vinton Route 1 sees a first degree manslaughter charge dismissed by Judge C W Smith in Vinton County Common Pleas Court The dismissal frees Page from a $1000 bond after more than three terms of court since the alleged booby trap shooting that killed 14 year old Ray Reister on April 29 1962 Page had pleaded not guilty and previously faced a hung jury in spring 1964 The case stemmed from a shotgun blast at Page s Clinton Township home near Dundas and Reister s death at Holzer Hospital Gallipolis The incident followed Page s resignation from the Vinton County Selective Service board and move to Vinton

McArthur Wade Hampton Lohr, Vinton County probate and juvenile judge for five years, filed petitions for another six year term as a Democrat. George Booth says filing deadline is Wednesday February 2 at 4 p.m. Also filed were Glenn L Peters for county auditor and Owen Harper for county commissioner. No Democrats have filed yet. Prosecutor Curran has filed probate judge forms but not yet.

Steers and heifers top 27.00 for 900-1100 lb, cows and bulls mixed. calves steady with higher bids on choice and good. Hogs 1,100 head generally steady with some lots up. sows and barrows priced. sheep 100 head with slaughter lambs and ewes steady and prices for various weights.
