Pomeroy Eyes Two Year Sewage Plant Permit Extension
Congress man Walter H Moeller urged Pomeroy officials to seek a two year extension on the permit to dump refuse into the Ohio River to allow a full study of the sewage disposal project. The meeting at city hall covered federal aid, site concerns near the Pomeroy Mason bridge, and the view that the project could be uneconomical and impractical given river floods and only storm sewers. Moeller promised to press authorities for the extension and to pursue possible exemptions or grants while meeting with the Water Pollution Control Board and Ohio officials.
