Harold Vaughn reports Burr Oak lake ice fishing continues despite warm January day. Frank Cunningham of Chauncey catches five bass Saturday and three Sunday. Dan Miller of Shawnee nets five bass for the week. Robert Horn counts 18 fishers Friday. Dr. C. F. Patton hauls 63 large bluegill Thursday. Dwight Hartley and Bill Williams reel several bass near five pounds. Favorite baits include large minnows for bass and small lures for bluegill. many fishers use tip-ups with 15 to 20 pound leader. Exercise caution until the lake refreezes sufficiently.
