May Yet Get Share of Money In Road Funds
Attorney General Ellis rules the December 31 deadline in the new good roads law is directory not mandatory. The decision would let many counties still seek their $300,000 share for road work, if courts uphold the opinion. Highland county sought clarity after missing the cutoff and asked Highway Commissioner Sam Huston. the legal department advised the commission need not respect the limit.

County records proposed printed in compact volumes
State Senator Thomas P. Schmidt of Cleveland will introduce a bill next year to allow county records to be printed in neatly bound volumes. County Recorder Herman C. Baehr says printed records save space and cost, with eight to ten copies for abstract companies and duplicates kept locally.
