Anti-Saloon League Leaders Speak at Athena Services
Rev. Perley A. Baker and Rev. J. C. Jackson toured Athena on Sunday delivering temperance sermons at the Christian and Presbyterian churches. Baker praised the league as political but not partisan, noting branches in Washington and state capitals and recounting efforts to curb saloon influence. He claimed the league helped place a minister in the legislature and spoke of future strength, with a substantial collection taken at the close. A wealthy Ohio benefactor funds Baker’s work.

The Say letta Register reports the prosecution of M S Luchs J M Frank W E Caskey and Patsy Fragner may move to Washington County for trial as service of summons in Athens County has failed.
