Price Rules Broken by Retailers in Southern Ohio
IRS investigators reported widespread noncompliance with Federal Price Commission posting rules across Southern Ohio during Jan 12 to 14 spot checks. Of 7,433 retailers checked, 2,533 were fully compliant, 3,430 partly compliant, and 1,470 fully violated. Many violations stemmed from before Jan 2 when only base price postings were required. New rules exempt small retailers earning under 200,000 dollars, limiting future posting duties for some violators.
