Ploutz dispute ends with payment to Buckeye Swift Homes
Defendants Paul and Geri Ploutz of Clearview were ordered to pay Buckeye Swift Homes Inc. $5,483.64 for work on the Ploutz apartments completed July 3, 1967. Buckeye filed suit Oct. 3, 1967, in Common Pleas Court seeking $6,188.64 against the Athens couple who had contracted in 1966 for a total project cost of $23,911.14. The court subtracted $705 from the contract balance, awarding the remainder to the plaintiff. The ruling noted no completion date was specified in the contract and the Ploutzs contended the job should have finished by Dec. 11, 1966.
