Interstate Pollution Pact Bills Tied to Ohio West Virginia
Rep Ralph Welker announced identical bills in the Ohio House and Senate to create an Interstate Air Pollution Control Commission for Ohio and West Virginia. The 10 member body would set cross state standards, finance shared costs, and seek federal grants, with governors appointing members and federal tie breaking involvement. The plan aims to curb pollution crossing the Ohio River while preserving each state's existing enforcement powers.
