Jill Roberts won first place in the Trimble Elementary School poster contest supporting the one half mill levy. Debbie Hook took second and Julie Van Fossen placed third. many students earned honorable mention. Posters are displayed in local business places across the school district.
The Hocking Valley Youth Rally gathered 144 attendees Sunday at Hooper Ridge Church of Christ. Doug Phillips led the meeting with Bart Kasier offering prayer and girls from Oakdale Hooper Ridge and Logan each performing. Vernon Russell of Kentucky Christian College spoke on The Trip and now ministers to the Airline Church of Christ. The February rally will be at Oakdale. Refreshments were served.
A 40-year-old Logan man was sentenced to seven days in jail fined 200 dollars and costs and had his driver’s license suspended for 60 days in Municipal Court for driving while intoxicated. Robert S. Tschudy pleaded guilty to the charge after police arrested him Saturday.
A 16 year old boy from Coolville was taken into custody by Belpre police on Saturday night on a car theft charge. The youth is in the custody of his parents pending court action. The suspect allegedly stole James Nolan's car Friday night and the vehicle has been returned.
Glouster Community Bank shareholders elect L. E. Richardson as chairman and L. E. Richardson Jr. as president. H. W. Wagner is vice president, Richard C. Guinther assistant vice president, Dean Ferrell cashier and secretary, Sue Hunter assistant cashier. Directors named include both Richardsons, Wagner, Guinther, and L. G. Colbert. President Richardson cites ten years of bank progress and strong customer service.
Garcia L. Workman, 33, of Guysville Route 2, pleaded guilty in Municipal Court to driving with a revoked license. He was sentenced to 7 days in jail and fined $200 plus costs. Patrolmen reported the incident occurred Saturday.
