Pension Letters Cause Confusion for Athens Veterans
Athens Veterans Officer C. J. Josten says many local pension recipients received rate notices that do not match the actual benefit. The Jan 1 1972 rates reflect medical deductions, with retroactive differences paid in a lump sum. Pensions for 1973 will decrease due to 1972 Social Security increases, while a new law to offset the differences is being pursued and urged for support.
