Jury Deliberates One Hour Plus in Narcotics Case

A Athens County Common Pleas Court jury acquitted Larry Nagel 19 of Cleveland in a narcotics possession case after about 70 minutes of deliberation. Nagel, once an Ohio University student, faced claims tied to marijuana traces found in a suitcase at Bromley Hall. The defense accused an improper search and questioned informant reliability, while the judge signaled openness to appeal on procedural issues. Two other co-defendants had varying dispositions as the broader May narcotics investigation concluded. Separately, Ohio University student Frank Cargould, 25, was treated for a dislocated shoulder after a Grover Center wrestling incident.
