Gallia County Advances High Flood-Escape Road Project
Gallia County Commissioners move to build a six mile flood-escape road from Brandstetter Heights west along Chillicothe Avenue to Rodney Village. The plan seeks WPA support and aims to regrade ditch and top-dress the former stage coach route while narrowing rights of way from 60 to 40 feet to avoid landowner disputes. A joint city WPA project would add a 300 foot fill from State Street to the county line crossing Chickamauga Creek.
