OU student indicted on burglary and safecracking charges
Caleb S Russell, a 23-year-old Athens man and Ohio University student, was indicted on six felony counts including three second-degree burglary charges two fourth-degree safecracking charges and a fifth-degree vandalism charge. He faces Feb 1 arraignment in Athens County Common Pleas Court after being jailed on bond. The case stems from a Dec 25 24 26 2023 string of apartment break-ins at Palmer Place 25 Kurtz St involving two suspects including Russell and includes entry into apartments 111 208 and 209 with safes opened in 208.
