Record Cold Grips Midwest to Southeast as Temperatures Plunge

Bitter cold shattered temperature records from the Midwest to the East. Gilmore Executed by Utah Firing Squad After Stay Lifted

Sorensen Requests Carter Nomination Withdrawal

Theodore C. Sorensen stunned the Senate Intelligence Committee by saying he asked President-elect Carter to withdraw his nomination to be director of the CIA. Chairman Daniel K.
