Kano hosts dedication of Nigerian college by Alden
Vernon R. Alden of Ohio University visits Kano to dedication of Advanced Teachers College, a $1 million project funded largely by USAID. The four year program will move 19 Ohio faculty to the new campus, with 430 enrollment and 740 projected by 1969. The visit includes inspections at Zaria and Ibadan programs, funded by Ford Foundation and USAID.

Edwin L. Kennedy was reappointed to a nine year term on Ohio University Board of Trustees by Gov. Rhodes. A Marion native living in New Vernon New Jersey, he is senior partner at Lehman Brothers with duties in petroleum and natural gas. Blaze Destroys Willow Creek One-Room School
A former Willow Creek One Room School on the Canaan Township farm of the late Joe Weiland burned at 2 p.m. Monday. Richland Area Volunteer Fire Department fought the 80 percent destruction for three hours, estimating losses around 1500 dollars. Occupants Harry Erwin and Leslie Dowler Jr. were asleep as smoke appeared from the coal stove flue. Franklin Blackford alerted firefighters after discovering the blaze engulfing the roof early in the incident.

Athens City Board Approves 1967 School Appropriations
The Athens City Board of Education approved an estimated $1,689,813 for routine district expenses in 1967, excluding funding for the new high school.
