Sp4 William T. Adams 22 of Athens Route 1 has been selected for the Ohio National Guard Officer Candidate School. He will train at Fort Hayes starting Jan 18 with about 80 guardsmen, completing a program from the Infantry School at Fort Benning. Adams is a Waterloo High School graduate, currently with Reese Miller Acoustical Co, a Fort Bliss veteran, and a Battery A squad leader with a wife Brenda and a two week old son Tim Edward.

The Disabled American Veterans of Athens County sponsor the event with shows at 1 30 and 7 p m. Proceeds support DAV charitable activities. Tickets are on sale now.

Contract Awarded For Armory Repairs
The Adjutant General of Ohio awarded a 2811 dollar contract for roofing and sheet metal work at the Ohio National Guard Armory in Athens. Capt. James F. Schweisert announced the award. The Strunk Maintenance Co. of Columbus was the apparent low bidder. Work is set to begin in the spring.
