Gas Rate Revision OK'd by City Cuts Proposed Increase
Gallipolis City Commission approved a revised natural gas rate ordinance after bargaining with Ohio Fuel Gas Co local manager Ray F. St. Clair. The 4 percent concession lowers the proposed increase to 6-8 percent, effective with March bills, with stepped rates for the first 600 to over 100 000 cubic feet and a $1.50 minimum charge. The new plan eliminates a penalty clause saving late payers about $2,400 yearly.
