Defense Sticks To Fish Angle In Lindbergh Trial
The defense moved to strike Morton C. Marsh as an expert witness before Isador Fisch’s credibility and the Fisch myth were challenged. The state pressed that the thumbguard found near the Lindbergh home fixed the crime scene, while Hauptmann’s lawyers pressed the Fisch handwriting theory as key to the ransom notes. The court allowed Marsh to testify and the state contended Fisch authored the notes, with German witnesses expected to be used only to counter defense claims.
