Two former U. S. Army men accused of spying for Russia were arrested in Vienna. A federal grand jury secret indictment named them, while the State Department demanded the recall of Yuri V.Novikov, second secretary at the Soviet Embassy, for activities incompatible with his diplomatic status.

George F. Ross, convicted killer of Cleveland Patrolman Forney L. Haas, is scheduled for execution by electric chair at Ohio Penitentiary at 8 p.m. Friday. The California native was captured after the 13 month sentence following the fatal shooting in an east side rooming house.

Fire destroyed the Finlan Lumber Co main planing mill and a newly finished building in South Zanesville. About 300000 board feet of lumber was ruined along with three trucks and a bulldozer. Origin traced to or near a kiln around 1 a.m. Firemen from multiple towns fought the blaze.
