Woman linked to theft in Athens bank robberies
A woman described as inside a car found by a sheriff's deputy fled. She allegedly bought the stolen vehicle for 500 dollars from an unknown man and contacted him through a friend. The car, valued at about 4500 dollars, was taken from a parking space near the apartment where she stayed. She is a suspect in December robberies of Peoples Bank in downtown Athens and Chase Bank on East State Street, plus a November 4 bank robbery in Fairmont, West Virginia.
