Fire destroys remaining Scatter Ridge home after two blazes
Fire officials say a high wind likely fanned smoldering sparks from Tuesday’s blaze at the Sam McClellan family’s partially finished Scatter Ridge home. The Thursday night fire razed the main floor, basement, and an adjoining garage, with the family planning to rebuild after spending time in a basement apartment during construction. Chief James Dillie found no arson evidence and noted sparks can escape fire crews’ oversight.
