Timber Sale Hats $29,000 Value Rise in Ohio Timber
Value of standing timber in Southeastern Ohio has risen since July 1, 1966. The Athens District of Wayne National Forest sold 1,488,000 board feet worth 29000 dollars. A new pallet industry increased demand for low-grade lumber while pulpwood markets rose as Ohio paper mills expanded. The Athens Ranger District plans to sell 2.6 million board feet in fiscal year 1967.
