Independent Senior Citizen Hired As Foster Grandparent
An 84 year old Mason County man, Robert Snead of Mount Alto, has been hired as a foster grandparent at Lakin State Hospital with help from multiple agencies. He joined 74 seniors in the program, driven by a need for self support rather than Social Security, after years of walking long distances for assistance and dentures.

The Point Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department logged 44 in town and 34 out-of-town calls in 1966. City fire loss was $15,090 with homes valued at $925,294 saved to $910,090. Out-of-town loss reached $49,400 on $285,565 in property with $236,165 saved. Merchantile fire loss $18,000. Two false alarms, no deaths.
