Meigs Native Promoted To Columbus Position
Ronald G. McDade a Meigs County native and former Athens resident is promoted to assistant director of educational activities at the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co. He moves from Middleport to Columbus to assist schools from elementary to college level. He joined C and SOE in 1999 after Ohio University training and has held multiple roles in the firm. He and his wife Loretta have two children Chris and Mandy.

Barn Destroyed In Blaze Near Little Hocking Farm
Firefighters from three departments battled a farm blaze near Little Hocking on Thursday night, saving three buildings while a barn with 2,000 bales of hay a tractor mowing machine and other equipment were destroyed. Damage is estimated at 7000 to 8600 dollars. Ten cattle and an auto were moved from the site. The fire reached other structures but was contained before wider loss. The Yoho farm lies between Little Hocking and Cutler with aid from Coolville Troy and Barlow Vincent volunteers. The granary second barn and a tool shed were saved.
