Explosion Kills Driller Near Bethel Road
Buttermore said the well seemed to start flowing and gas ignition from a short in the wiring may have caused the blast. The crew supported the ignition theory as fire crews quenched the blaze from a pressurized truck. Sheriff A J Waldron and Deputy Gerald Morrison investigated the scene about a half mile from Bethel Road and a quarter mile from Snake Ridge fire tower on Route 278. Burial for Mr Huston will be in Cincinnati.
