The Athens County clerk of courts posted about 62 000 in total funds in 1956 covering court and motor vehicle title operations. Vehicle titles brought 16 858 55 in fees with 895.05 to the county and 314.95 to the state in December alone. New car titles rose year over year with 2842 titles issued in 1956.
