Ironic Memo on Golf, Bets, and a False Joe Sam Tip
Hollywood writer Henry McLemore recalls top golfers preferring accuracy over long drives and jokes about hot race tips. He traces a misleading tip chain from Spencer Tracy to Joe Sam, ending with the realization the horse Joe Sam finished fourth. The piece mixes golf humor with a cautionary anecdote.
