Red Cross Elects Jennings as Athens County Chapter Chairman
Dr. Raymond L. Jennings associate physician at Ohio University Health Services was elected chairman of the Athens County Red Cross Chapter board during the annual meeting held at Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co. A slate of officers and board members was approved, with honors given to Miss Charlotte LaTourette as honorary chairman of safety services. The session included remarks by ex director Mrs. Louise Berry and tributes to the late Zelma McVey.

March of Dimes Mailers To Notify Athens County Citizens
Athens County residents will receive mailers in January announcing the annual March of Dimes campaign to aid children with birth defects. About 17 000 household mailers and 516 business health reports are being prepared for 8 000 homes and 9 000 post office boxes and rural routes.

Bloodmobile schedule outlined for Athens County in 1973
The Red Cross bloodmobile will visit Athens County for 12 days in 1973 with stops at First Methodist Church Athens January 17 and Ohio University's West Green February 19 20. Additional dates include April 24 May 21 22 23 August 16 October 15 16 and November 12. A Nelsonville site is sought for May while daily quota rises to 135 units.

Missing Chauncey man found safe after seven hour search
Roger Way was located around 1 30 a m near Little Bailey Run Road by two motorcyclists. The effort involved up to 75 searchers including Chauncey Dover Volunteer Fire Department Athens County Sheriff REACT Red Cross Civil Defense and local police. Way stated he got lost while tramping in the woods and had been missing since about 6 30 p m.
