District 25 OES Plans Meeting at Morgan High School
The 49th annual district meeting and school of instruction for District 25 Order of Eastern Star will be Jan 15 at Morgan High School McConnelsville. Registration starts 3 p.m. and afternoon session begins. New officers for 1973 74 to be installed include president Janet Finley and vice president June Stanley. Grand Chapter officials will exemplar the ritual work. Refreshments served by Webb Chapter Stockport.

Point Pleasant police investigated three accidents on Tuesday with one injury and two citations. At 5:45 p.m. on Viand Street a car driven by Mary C. Haddox, 32, Point Pleasant, struck a pedestrian.

Fire Alarms and Accidents Reported in Wellston and Nearby
WELLSTON fire crews answered two alarms including a defective flue fire at Grace Bishop’s home and a furnace fire at 216 S Pennsylvania Ave with no major damage. A separate smoke scare prompted a call to the fire department. POMEROY Emergency Squad treated Myrtle Robinson for a gunshot wound to the left foot and arranged hospital care for Karen Cowger after a pedestrian incident. Two traffic crashes were reported: Gregory Johnson backed into a Tiny's Quick Stop telephone booth causing minor damage and Harold Dunn rear-ended by Charles Turner with both drivers cited for violations.

The Middleport Literary Club elected officers at its annual meeting held at Mrs. Rodney Downing’s home. Officers are Mrs. Emerson Jones president, Mrs. Harold Sauer vice president, Mrs. Dwight Wallace secretary, and Mrs. M. L French treasurer. New members Mrs. Mildred McDaniel and Mrs. Theodosia Frecker joined, with nominating report by Mrs. Richard Owen, Mrs. Nan Moore, and Mrs. James Euler.
