Robert J. Kaiser of Laurelville pleaded innocent to three charges before Judge James Stilwell. Bond set at 50 dollars per charge for operating an unsafe vehicle driving a vehicle with a defective exhaust and reckless operation. Hearing scheduled for January 6.
Nelsonville officials plan a clean up of abandoned motor vehicles. Safety Director Paul Altier said inoperable cars on city streets will be towed and charges dropped for owners after a five day notice on private lots.
H and R Block Income Tax Service opens an office in the Pythian Building on Washington Street. Operations run 9 am to 6 pm Monday through Saturday with Judy Tolliver in charge. Federal state and city returns including farm and small business forms will be prepared. Telephone 753 3686.
Two motorists cited to the Nelsonville Mayor's court waived hearings and paid fines of 10 dollars and costs each. Rebecca J. McIntosh of 234 Kentner Street was cited for speeding under conditions and Joan B. Hartley of 547 Poplar Street for improper backing.
The Pandorian Club will meet Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the Columbus and Southern Ohio Electric Co. offices on Lake Hope Drive. A time change has been made. The program includes small appliance demonstrations desserts and a brief film by the Electric Company.
