Former Pomeroy Mayor Cancels Takeover Plan
Former Pomeroy mayor Del mar A Canaday telephoned Mayor Sidney Spencer to say he would not assume the office on Jan 3 as he had claimed. The dispute centers on Canaday’s 30 day suspension and Spencer’s claim he remains responsible for village duties, with court action the only path to a change. Canaday later said he would attempt to take over on Jan 10, after business travel prevented earlier action.
