Nelsonville Fires Cause Heavy Loss At Two Homes
Nelsonville fire crews fought two blazes that began Sunday night and required a return Monday morning. The William Thomas residence at 419 West Franklin Street suffered extensive bedroom and adjacent room damage with water and smoke affecting other areas. The Beckett residence on County Road 2 suffered heavy damage to an attached garage and parts of the home, burning two cars and a motorcycle. Investigators believe the first fire began from a fuel oil furnace and embers rekindled to require a second attack.
