A safety rule from the Ohio Highway Safety group explains stopping distance by multiplying speed by itself and dividing by ten, yielding feet required to halt under normal conditions. Weather, road, braking, and tire tread affect results. In Washington, the U S Office of Education grants support programs for over 100,000 disabled children across about 1,000 schools. Ohio’s share is 454 513 of a 29 7 million grant for 1969.
