Veterinarians from outside the county will perform the tests, and cattle owners may still list livestock with township dairy league directors such as Ben Ball in Athens Township and Edgar Kerrns in Ames, among others.

A storm in Roseville un roofed a Hydraulic Press Brick Company building. The roof blew off and was found on John Clifford’s farm about a mile and a half away. Clifford offered to surrender it to Superintendent Fred Brandt if he retrieves it.

Helen Marple Snook made a personal plea to Gov. Myers Y. Cooper for clemency for Ty James Howard Snook, who faces execution for the murder of Theora Hix. A 2 p.m. clemency conference with Snook’s attorney, the county prosecutor, and state officials will decide if clemency is granted.
Mrs. Snook met with the Governor for 31 minutes accompanied by Rev. Isaac Miller to plead for her professor husband facing execution. Miller supported her case citing numerous extenuating circumstances as workmen prepared the death house at the State Penitentiary for a likely 7:30 to 8 p m. execution tomorrow.

Harry T. Holmes known as "The Sheriff" surrendered to Cleveland authorities after losing his appeal in the U. S. Circuit Court of Appeals for participation in the Lorain Post Office robbery. He is to be moved to Atlanta Prison to serve 36 years, having fled to Miami before the capial was issued. He refused further comment and asked to be held incommunicado.
Genoa High School athlete Clark Wheeler, 18, died after a brief illness of spinal meningitis in Toledo on February 27. The Genoa community mourns the loss of the star athlete who battled illness at home before his passing.
Near freezing temperatures spread across Ohio as two week February warm spell ends. Snow began in northern sections after midnight with continued cloudy weather and forecasts of more snow. Lake Erie's fluctuating levels caused heavier-than-expected damage to foundations and breakwaters at Kelleys Island Rye Beach and Huron Village. Tuscarawas River overflowed from Canton to Coshocton and Dover.
Athens County taxing districts with insufficient funds for current expenses may obtain an advance on the February tax settlement. Requests must be filed with the county auditor by March 1. Advances are issued once a district’s taxing authorities pass a resolution. Final tax settlement is expected by March 15.
President Hoover cancels a White House reception for House members after Taft, the former Chief Justice, sinks again early today. Doctors say Taft’s condition worsened after a noon bulletin and death could come at any moment.
Joseph Peart and Harry Settles of Crookeville escaped injury when a tornado struck Roseville as they rode home from Zanesville in a truck. The Owens residence was blown down just behind them, roofing missing them by a few feet. They suffered minor cuts and bruises from debris.

In Los Angeles 250 protesters faced tear gas and police as Carl Sklar, labeled a Communist organizer, was detained with others on criminal syndicalism charges.
In Seattle a 266 strong parade singing the Inter nationale clashed with 180 police officers, a woman speaker was arrested for lacking a parade license. In Chicago 185 radicals tried to assault officers. Lydia Okin urged workers to fight. New York saw clashes in the financial district as supporters celebrated John Porter, alias Wraiszac, released from prison.
E. Sweetman aged 45 formerly of Dayton died at his Cincinnati home. He was manager of the Republic Asphalt Paving Company and is survived by his widow and other relatives. The death was reported on February 27.
