In Fort Wayne Indiana Henry Black Jr 16 and Albert Webester 14 were sentenced to 25 years each in federal court for kidnapping Mr and Mrs Alfred Sherrick of Convoy Ohio last Oct 24 The couple was forced to drive to New Haven Indiana and Mrs Sherrick said she was raped before escaping.

Purdue University suffers three fatalities in a bleacher collapse during a Purdue versus Wisconsin basketball game in Lafayette Indiana. Theodore Nordquist 25 of Gary dies from chest injuries fractured spine and broken leg. Two other Indiana students killed and 250 treated in hospitals. Nordquist was a World War II Army Air Force veteran with 63 missions.
