POMEROY Feb 25 No action has been taken in the case of Don ald Ridenour Chester youth a principal figure in the Sunday night automobile crash in which two persons were seriously injured and two machines wrecked The $800 bond on which Ridenour is held expires at midnight If no charges are filed by then he will be free For two days negotiations have been in progress between the grandparents of Ridenour and John Seines as to a settlement of damages Seines demands 1500 for wrecked auto doctors bills for the fracture and other damages The Ridenours want to settle in full for 500 at the Courthouse it is reported that the grand jury released a few weeks ago will be sealed back next week to consider charges against James Mckenzie for the auto crash of two weeks ago There are several persons in jail whose cases will be investigated so they may not be confined in jail all summer without a hearing.

Mason City businessmen seek sufficient gas supply to attract an Oklahoma based company. A new well reported as 250 cubic feet per day was brought in yesterday, financed by the Cincinnati Line Company on the Lizzie and Edward Ray Wauld farm. Drilling by Utsinger & Barton. George H. Snyder of Batereath Pipe Line Company arranged a new site on the same farm for a deeper test near Perea Grit.

Buckeye Savings sues Springer couple for 1241 dollars
The Buckeye Savings and Loan Company filed a suit against Karl Springer and Edith Springer of Middleport to collect 1241.87. Walter Hamm, Pomeroy WWII veteran, had surgery at Chillicothe military hospital for war injuries. Mrs. Harvey Sayre of Meigs County has died at Ravenswood. Meigs jail renovation costs include wallpaper 30.90 and total 185, plus grand jury room chairs 93.75 and table 20.85. In 1900 Pomeroy K of P lodge had 190 members, now over 300. Prices from 1900 include whiskey 3 per gallon, gingham 5 cents per yard, misses’ hose 10 cents per pair. Dave Gideon bought the Ruckman property in Mason City at auction. Attendees from Pomeroy attended Homer J. Beott’s funeral in Columbus at Athens Christian Church.
