Marietta reports Miss Sarah A. James aged 88 died at the Vincent area home of her grandniece Mrs Malcolm McVicar after lifelong ties to the Athens County area. Daughter of the late Rev and Mrs William James of Vincent she moved to Vincent 35 years ago and lived with her nephew A C Fuller before moving to the McVicar home. A longtime member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and the Daughters of Rebekah Lodge, funeral services were held at the Vincent M E Church at 1 30 p m with Rev C L Pfalzgraf officiating and interment in Valley Cemetery.
In Celina Ohio on February 24 a long running political feud culminated when county commissioners Charlies Frysinger aged 60 of Rockford and Fred Goettemoeller aged 55 were shot by Bert Morrison about 54 who then killed himself. Morrison waited at the courthouse door after interviews and opened fire with a shotgun. Frysinger died within moments while Goettemoeller was seriously wounded.
Columbus reports that only an attorney would be allowed to hold the office of probate judge if a bill pending before the Senate passes when it convenes Monday night.
