Bridge Damaged In Wreck Blocks Route 35 After Tanker Explodes
A chemical truck wreck on Route 35 near the Five and Twenty Mile Creek bridge caused severe damage to a small bridge and the highway. Clyde Lunsford 41 of Hurricane died when the truck overturned and burned. Fire units from Winfield and Nitro fought the blaze. the road reopened to one way traffic. Funeral arrangements are set by Cooke and Pauley for Lunsford. Several divorces and civil cases are listed including Linda Stewart vs Roger Stewart and Donald Epling vs Doris Epling.

In Point Pleasant, 20-year-old David Michael Biggs was charged with racing on a public highway after a Friday crash that killed Dallas Young and several others. A separate Route 2 wreck near Point Pleasant injured no one, while a third incident left three Middleport residents fined for DWI, improper backing, and running a red light.
