Ohio University professor George Katz will give a piano recital Sunday at 8 p.m. in the School of Music Recital Hall. His season includes recitals in Germany, duo performances with violinists Howard Beebe and Michael Davis, and future appearances at the University of Miami Oxford and with the Meridian, Mississippi Symphony. The program features Clementi in G minor, Faure Nocturne, Stravinsky Petrouchka piano version, and Fugues in a varied solo set.

The District 15 Solo and Ensemble contest will be held in Ohio University's School of Music on Feb. 24 under Professor Charles Minelli. About 700 solos and ensembles across woodwind brass strings percussion piano and voice will be judged by state adjudicators with participants from eight southeastern counties. The festival is free.

Produc tion costs are covered by box office receipts, with an estimated minimum of 100 dollars for high school productions. The plot centers on a snowbound bus’s night in a diner and comic pursuits around a flirtatious cowboy and a hard drinking professor.
