A sixteen year old boy confessed to killing Mia Celia Brown 27 and her five year old son in Conneaut. He admitted beating Mrs Brown with a baseball bat after she resisted his advances and then killed the child, hiding the boy’s body in a basement wood pile.
In Conneaut on February 15, police report the brutal murder of a woman identified as Mrs. Brown, 27, and her 5-year-old son Fred Jr. The father returned home to find them dead with head injuries. A bloody baseball bat lay near the mother’s bed and towels with water in the kitchen suggest an attempted cleansing. A suspect was arrested earlier and held for questioning.
Fred Brown told United Press that he returned home just after noon to a forced door and a chaotic house. He described entering the dining room with papers scattered and furniture knocked over, then discovering his son in the cellar and racing to alert neighbors and police. He spoke of overwhelming grief and inability to continue.
Sheriff and coroner investigate a brutal family killing in a main road house.
