Blaze Destroys Mason Home in Sand Hill Road Fire

The two story frame home of Mr. and Mrs. Russell G. Holland on Sand Hill Road was destroyed by fire Wednesday night. Point Pleasant firefighters fought flames from 7:30 p.m. to after 11 p.m. due to lack of water. The blaze, started upstairs likely from defective wiring, caused about $11 000 in losses with $6 000 insured. Some downstairs furniture was saved. Two additional fires were reported on Charleston Road at Judge Hereford farm and Newton Oliver farm, plus a blaze in Salt Creek area.
