Gallipolis City Commission approves new five year gas contract
The Gallipolis City Commission signed a five year contract with Ohio Fuel Supply Company patterned after a 1940 agreement. Rates tilt slightly under current levels for four years then rise modestly in year five. Gas will come directly from Roane Jackson field wells in West Virginia. Other actions included drafting a local building code and bidding soda ash lime and gasoline for the year. Manpower shortages were noted with several city workers ill or entering service.
