Farmers in Henry County plan a joint Day of Allegiance against taxation and public officials. They will meet at the county courthouse to hear speeches and air farmer grievances amid Northwestern Ohio tensions. The Henry County gathering followed a mortgage foreclosure sale of the Walter Crozier farm near Haskins where over 2000 people bought mortgaged property at a fraction of its value. The sale may mark the last penny auction in Wood County for a year as banks grant a one year moratorium on foreclosures.

John F. Klassen a 44 year old professor of arts at Bluffton College was granted United States citizenship despite refusing to take the oath of allegiance on religious grounds. Judge E. Everett approved the naturalization over a protest by Edward J. Kennedy the federal naturalization inspector for the Cincinnati district. Klassen arrived from Russia in 1924 and served four years with the Russian Red Cross during World War I.
Judge 8 M. Johnson will begin a new term as judge of Athene County Probate Court with a brief ceremony. Judge O F Rowland will preside as Johnson, deputies, and probation officers take the oath of office. The inauguration occurs at a.m. with no known personnel changes.
John Burns of Glouster paid a $50 fine and costs after pleading guilty to exhibiting punch boards at his business. Magistrate C H Porte imposed the fine and he settled it today. Constable Frank White arrested Burns.
The Hague reports a Dutch squadron is ready for immediate action against mutineers aboard the cruiser De Zeven Provincien who threatened to fire on the government vessel Eridanus. Seaplanes scout the cruiser and report its movements as the ministry monitors the incident.
In Logan Miss Tene Walker of Enterprise broke a nine year attendance record at Howard E B Kirk junior high when she missed only a half day on January 3. Illness caused the exception ending a flawless run of daily attendance.
