Storms flood California streets and hillsides

Storms in California closed 70 schools washed out hillsides and flooded many streets. Mountain snow reached a foot in some areas while lightning damaged two houses and disabled a power pole. Officials counted 110 trees toppled, 15 on cars, 10 on houses, and rain totals reached 11 inches at Opid's Camp. Six deaths were attributed to the storm.
