Pittsburgh reports John Coyne Jr 22 shot his father's 19 year old bride Irene Coyne after an airplane arrival from Detroit. He then beat his father with a hammer before guests intervened. He was to be turned over to homicide detectives.

Martin McGraw of Cutler was arraigned before Mayor Robert Wood on a charge of shooting at with intent to kill and pleaded not guilty. Bound over to the Athens County Grand Jury under $500 bond, he was arrested by Sheriff Charles Stratton and Deputy Karl Gardner on an affidavit by Albert Tabler. Tabler said McGraw had accused him of stealing chickens and shot at him. an intoxication charge was also filed, with arraignment set for Saturday morning.

Dr Albert Je Brainard age 57 a surgeon at the National Military Hospital in Dayton for 10 years was found dead today authorities said Brainard served in the medical corps and his death is being investigated by local officials The hospital released no further details at this time
